Bracelets
A bracelet is one of the most widely used pieces of jewellery today. Although most of the jewellery pieces are neckwear, bracelets are worn around the wrists. Bracelets could be made from different materials that eventually define their elegance, beauty and price. Bracelets can manufactured from wood, cloth, leather, metal etc. Bracelets have their own significance. Some bracelets are used as a symbol of everlasting friendship while some are used for medical purposes like allergy bracelets. Another similar term used sometimes as an alternate of bracelet is the armlet. Just like a finger ring, an armlet means anything that wraps and sits on your wrist just like a wrist watch. Different bracelets use different materials and they come in different shapes as well. For example bracelets come with gemstones and they also come in the shape of a heart etc, making them a perfect gift for someone close to you.
As mentioned earlier, each type of bracelet has its own significance. Some bracelets have cultural significance while others have religious or spiritual significance. According to the national geographic society, there are some bracelets like the Scarab Bracelet which represents the one of the most recognized ancient Egypt's symbol. The Scarab, according to ancient belief, represents regeneration or rebirth. Earlier bracelets were made from bones and different stones.
Another interesting belief about the bracelets is that there is a tradition called as the Martenitsa, in Bulgaria, which involves using a string or a bracelet made up of a red and white string, around the wrist in order to please Baba Marta who is responsible or believed to call the spring a bit sooner. Also in some parts of the word, bracelets represent marital status of a woman.
There are different types of bracelets available today. Depending upon their design and the material through which they are made, their prices may vary. Most of the bracelets today are designed in a very secure way because bracelets now are becoming day to day wear so security has been a concern during the manufacturing of the bracelets.
There are some tips that you should always remember while buying a bracelet for you or for another person as a gift. You should always go for a loose bracelet since a tight bracelet may chase your wrist and could break after too much stretching. One tip is to pass a finger between your wrist and the bracelet, if you are able to pass one finger between your wrist and the bracelet, then it is the ideal size for you to buy. If you are buying it for another person, you should also take the size into consideration. It should neither be to loose nor should it be too tight. You should also take in account the lifestyle of the person for whom you are buying the bracelet.
